I am Katrin Helena, a soprano from Estonia.

Year 2024 highlights included debuting from the Advanced Postgraduate Programme at The Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen, singing with The Danish Chamber Orchestra and Camerata Øresund, as well as participating at the Wilhelm Stenhammar International Music Competition in Nörrköping, Sweden.

 

In 2023, I made my Copenhagen Opera Festival debut as Suor Osmina in Puccini’s Suor Angelica, and sang the role of Fox in Janacek’s Cunning Little Vixen.
That year included also concerts with two renowned baroque orchestras, namely Concerto Copenhagen and Camerata Øresund, and roles of Woman (Greed by Jonathan Dove) and Geraldine (A Hand of Bridge by Samuel Barber) in a collaboration-project with The Danish National School of Performing Arts.

 

I consider myself a curious and multifaceted singer. As a proof of this, my artistry extends beyond operatic repertoire to lied, as well as to ensemble and choral music. I am currently a member of the Danish Radio Concert Choir, and have performed with the renowned Danish Radio Vocal Ensemble. 

I have a fantastic collaboration with pianist Hazel Friedman, with whom we indulge in Lied-repertoire. Together, we won 2nd Prize at the Rued Langgaard competition in Denmark (2022), and were Semi-finalists at the international Copenhagen Lied-Duo competition (2023), where we received a special price for the best Danish song interpretation. 2025 has started off strong for us - we were invited to the prestigious Schubert and Modern Music competition in Austria, as well as to the Sibelius Lied-Competition in Finland.

 

I am grateful to have worked with some of the greatest conductors, coaches and voice teachers, such as Marie Jacquot, Lars Ulrik Mortensen, Linda Watson, Malcolm Martineau and Anne Sophie von Otter, to name a few.

Besides singing, I love to hang out with my friends and family, hike in the nature, bake buns, sleep (in a telt) and learn new facts that I'll forget by next day.
